THE BOX GYM CORNWALL - GYM RULES
All Members and Guests must comply by these Gym Rules at all times. Refusal or continual non-compliance with these Rules may result in The Box Gym user being ejected from the premises and termination of Membership if applicable. The Box Gym reserves the right to make changes to the Gym Rules from time to time, and any changes will be effective immediately. Copies of these Rules can be obtained from reception or from The Box Gym website at
COVID - 19
DO NOT ENTER. Do not enter The Box Gym Cornwall if you have any of the following or have been in contact with anyone with these symptoms:
SHORTNESS OF BREATH
VOMITING OR DIAARRHEA
STAY AT HOME IF YOU ARE SICK OR HAVE A FEVER. temperatures will be taken upon entering The Box Gym Cornwall. If you temperature is high, you will not be permitted to enter The Box Gym Cornwall and participate in classes or to workout. Also stay at home if you have or are experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, fever, muscle aches, chills, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, headache or difficulty breathing.
MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING. All members must remain at least two (2) metres apart at all times. In order to maintain the two metre distances, please do not use equipment/machines next to members already working out. The wearing of face masks are optional whilst within The Box Gym Cornwall.
CLEAN MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT THOROUGHLY AFTER EACH USE. You will be required to sanitise your hands regularly using the provided sanitiser stations. You are to wipe down all equipment before, during and after using.
LIMITED NUMBER OF MEMBERS AT ONE TIME
To ensure your safety within The Box Gym Cornwall, we will be limiting the capacity at any one time. You may call ahead to make an appointment or to reserve your spot.
Any Guests to The Box Gym premises are required to sign in at reception. The Box Gym Cornwall is a members only gym.
2. DRESS CODE
The Box Gym users are expected to wear suitable attire at all times while using The Box Gym facilities. The Box Gym considers suitable attire to be: a t-shirt or vest; shorts or trousers suitable for training; and closed shoes suitable for training (with exceptions for certain class activities).
The following is NOT acceptable:
Open shoes or bare feet, unless partaking in certain classes as above
No t-shirt / lack of suitable clothing
Jeans or other inappropriate trousers
Dirty or heavily soiled work clothes
Getting changed in any area other than designated changing area
Inappropriate attire can be offensive or intimidating to other gym users, and as such will not be tolerated. Refusal to comply with the dress code may result in The Box Gym user being ejected from the facilities; continued refusal is a breach of the Rules and as such The Box Gym may terminate the user’s Membership as stated in the Terms and Conditions.
All Box Gym Members must conduct themselves in a respectful manner whilst using The Box Gym facilities. Any Box Gym user who acts in an intimidating, abusive, violent or disrespectful manner to any person may be ejected from The Box Gym, and Members may have their Membership terminated with no refund of fees already paid. During busy periods, The Box Gym users are to use only one weights station at a time. All weights and equipment should be replaced correctly after use, and equipment and machines should be wiped down. Any Box Gym users who are unsure of how to use a piece of equipment should seek instruction before doing so. The Box Gym will not take any responsibility where a Box Gym user sustains injury from incorrect use of equipment. If any equipment is found to be faulty or malfunctioning, please report this to The Box Gym staff immediately. All Box Gym users must comply with any reasonable request from The Box Gym staff in relation to health and safety, and to ensure smooth running of The Box Gym. No Box Gym user may act as a personal trainer for The Box Gym. The Box Gym Personal Trainers have been employed and confirmed as holding the required certification and insurance, and as such are the only trainers permitted to work as Box Gym Personal Trainers. Personal trainers are not permitted to train their clients within The Box Gym Cornwall.
All Box Gym users must cease training no later than 10 minutes before closing, and leave The Box Gym before it closes. Children are not permitted into The Box Gym Cornwall. No food or drink should be consumed in The Box Gym, other than drinks in sealable containers. Alcohol and illegal substances are prohibited from being brought into and/or consumed on the premises; any Box Gym user under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances may be ejected from The Box Gym. Smoking is prohibited on The Box Gym premises at all times.
The Box Gym timetable, instructors and classes are subject to change at any time. The Box Gym will endeavor to provide notice when a class is unable to take place for any reason. Members are recommended to book in advance using the designated Box Gym App to ensure that a class has space for them. Members can book online from 7am the previous day. A member should cancel a class booking at least two hours in advance of the class. Class participants are expected to arrive on time. If a participant arrives late, entry to the class may be denied at the absolute discretion of the class instructor.
6. LOST PROPERTY
The Box Gym takes no responsibility for loss, theft or damage for any items brought into The Box Gym or in any car parking area whilst attending The Box Gym, unless The Box Gym is shown to have been negligent. The Box Gym strongly recommends Box Gym users to avoid bringing valuable items to the gym where at all possible. Any belongings and or property not picked up within a reasonable time will be kept in The Box Gym for a reasonable period and then may be donated to charity.
7. GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
If any Box Gym user has concerns in relation to health and safety or Covid-19, they must report the issue to The Box Gym staff immediately.
